Team Track Suits

We took all the measurements of PD 2 and 3 during the intensive, but we haven’t taken measurements of PD 1 and Pre-PD so we will be doing 2 separate orders. All new kids will be getting tracksuits and all previous PD students need to let us know before September 7th if your need a new track suit or just a new portion of your track suit. Please try it on again and see if you have grown out of it.

Sweatpants are $35 and Jackets are $45

We are going with the more loose fitting fleece Jackets (like the ones the pinks and Blues had last year) for all students this year because they will do better to keep the dancers warm and be more functional in winter. If you have the old ones, you do not have to get a new one but you may get a new one if you want, to match the other girls.

Exams

While exams are not mandatory, they are HIGHLY recommended as the exam process assists with proper development, which will allow a student to move up safely to the next grade level.

Why Should A Dancer Take Exams?

The Jazz, Tap, Acro and Ballet syllabus we work with for each grade level is designed specifically for enhancing the dancer’s development at a safe pace in order to prevent injuries and to form proper dance technique. Forcing flexibility and/or strength components before the dancer’s body is ready is known to cause long term effects.

There are a number of additional contributing factors to consider such as maturity level, comprehension capabilities, attention span, motor skills and coordination. Dancers who move up before they’re ready risk delays with progression, which can turn a positive experience into a negative one. We aim to focus on each student’s growth by ensuring proper placement, but a positive experience is key!

Exams are valuable for serious students because they promote the development of strong technique, artistry, and quality of movement.

The examining process gives each student a goal to work towards and allows them to achieve it.

It takes discipline to study theory and work hard in class to reach the technical requirements for each grade level.

Achieving goals heightens self-esteem by allowing the dancer to graduate to the next level upon successful completion of the previous grade.

The benefits of using a method which builds from one level to the next is important in developing a well-trained dancer.

Vegas

In April of 2021 we are planning on attending a dance and aerial Competition called vivafest in Vegas. We are still in the process of getting all the information together. We want to let families know as far in advance as possible so they can plan and prepare. This trip will not be mandatory, it will be an optional addition competition to attend. Vegas is a big tourist city with a lot happening in the dance and circus world. I would like to work on getting a backstage tour with one of the shows and a meet and greet with performers, as well as going to see a show for inspiration. We would also like to give the girls the opportunity to take a master class, though the competition also offers these experiences. and have some fun on roller coasters and swimming pools. Needless to say it will be a jam packed with competition, fun and educational opportunities

As it will be optional we will have a group piece with only girls who are going to Vegas in addition to solos and duets. We will need to know who is coming by Auditions May 2020 so that we can start planning the trip, groups and choreography.

Benefits of traveling as a studio:

  • Get to spend tons of time with your friends

  • Going on a plane and staying in a hotel with dance friends is a blast!

  • Unbeatable team building experience

  • Compete outside of our comfort zone

  • Experience and compete against performers from all over the world

  • Master classes and a glimpse at the professional performing and tourism world

  • Cirque shows and productions
